Energy Security and the Environment - Monday, October 6th
FPPfO was joined by Young Lawyers for Obama and Clean Tech for Obama in hosting a fantastic policy discussion on the challenges and opportunities in energy policy for the next administration. The panel featured seasoned energy experts and advisers to the Obama campaign: Dr. Charles Ebinger Director of the Energy Security Initiative at Brookings, Robert M. Sussman Senior Fellow at the Center for American Progress and former Deputy Director of the EPA, David Hawkins, former EPA Asst. Administrator for Air and Ken Berlin, head of the Environmental and Climate Change practice at Skadden.

Over $10,000 raised and around 120 people attended.
FPPfO Presidential Debate Watching Party - Friday, September 26th
FPPfO hosted a watching party for the first presidential debate. Two foreign policy advisers to Obama joined us, and we raised over $300 for the campaign.


The future of US-Russia Relations
Monday, September 15th
The frozen conflicts in Georgia have entered a hot phase and transformed Russia’s relationship with the U.S. After 8 years of rudderless policy toward Russia, how will engagement in Eurasia change under an Obama administration?

FPPfO was proud to host Visiting Georgetown Professor Celeste Wallander, an advisor to the Obama campaign, who addressed some of the major challenges in US-Russia policy and guided a very informed and constructive discussion.


“The Americas” Fundraising Reception –
Thursday, September 11th
FPPfO hosted a fundraiser benefiting Obama for America on the future of Latin American relations under an Obama administration.

Dan Restrepo, Senior Policy Advisor for Western Hemisphere to the Obama Campaign, and Arturo Valenzuela, former NSC Senior Director under Clinton and member of the Obama LA Policy Group, addressed the attendees.
